Gebaseerd op het opmerkelijke waargebeurde verhaal van het enige bekende polka-schandaal ter wereld. Jan Lewan is een Poolse immigrant die gelooft in de Amerikaanse droom en besluit in de jaren 70 naar het Westen te emigreren. Lewan bouwt in Amerika een muzikaal imperium op wat hem tot een internationaal erkend figuur maakt. Maar grote dromen brengen ook grote fouten met zich mee. Als een schandaal zich openbaart en zijn duistere handelingen boven water komen, kunnen zijn fans niet geloven dat hun held een van de grootste financiële misdaden in de geschiedenis heeft begaan.
